Dylan strives to create lasting memories and approaches shaping Southlake’s future with excitement.

Born with a passion for community engagement and impactful experiences, Dylan graduated from the University of North Texas in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Event, and Sport Management. Eager to further hone his skills and expand his expertise, Dylan is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the same institution.

Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Dylan found himself operating as a Financial Services Representative in Southlake. However, his true calling emerged when he transitioned to the City of Southlake in 2022, where he assumed the role of Festivals and Events Coordinator. In this capacity, Dylan coordinated, planned, and managed the largest City events in the heart of Southlake Town Square. While managing annual events like Southlake Stars and Stripes and the Christmas Tree Lighting, Dylan has developed and improved multiple aspects of events. Dylan’s focus on events and relationships throughout the community enhanced internal processes, supported local businesses, and promoted nonprofits. While carefully coordinating various events throughout the year, Dylan helped provide a dynamic platform for local entities to showcase products, services, and causes to a broader audience.

In early 2024, Dylan’s dedication and contributions elevated him into the role of Economic Development and Tourism Specialist, where he will collaborate with both sides of Economic Development and Tourism. This position allows him to delve into the intricacies of Southlake’s past, present, and future, as well as cultivate the community from a different perspective.

Known for his commitment to excellence and community experiences, Dylan Duque is driven by the desire to help shape the future of Southlake. With a focus on Economic Development and Tourism, he leverages his expertise to make a positive impact and looks forward to progressing the growth and prosperity of the City of Southlake. Dylan’s journey exemplifies a blend of experience and genuine passion for community improvement, making him a valuable asset in the vibrant landscape of Southlake’s economic and tourism initiatives.
